In order to overcome this struggle, I made up my mind to promote our school one step up, to a first-class intermediate vocational school. So, as a second construction project, we decided to build another two-storey school building (which housed the school office) on the 40 tsubo(132.23m²). As a third project built on 48 tsubo(158.68m²), another two-storey classroom building, which was also to serve as a lecture hall, was completed.

At the time of completion, I took my mother’s hand and guided her to the second floor of the building. My mother, who had started to lose her eyesight, was excited, touching every side of the building and exclaiming, “Oh, what a big building!” It was February 1919(Taishō 8), the following year, when we received permission to recommence there as a secondary school starting that April.
